Leadership Team

Mr. Bourchier is a registered professional engineer with over 33 years of domestic and international experience in the mining industry. His breadth of experience includes both operational field management and executive corporate oversight leadership. His public company and inter-company Board governance experience is further complemented by his McMaster University accredited Chartered Director Certification. Mr. Bourchier was previously President, CEO and a director of Harte Gold Corp. from late 2020 to early 2022 and Chief Operating Officer of Detour Gold for two years from 2018 to 2019. For six years from 2012 to 2017, Mr. Bourchier held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Nevsun Resources. Preceding this successful tenure, Mr. Bourchier was an operational Executive for two years at Wheaton Precious Metals (formerly Silver Wheaton). For the first 16 years of his career, he worked at Placer Dome (subsequently Barrick Gold) where he held positions of increasing responsibility concluding as Mining Manager and then General Manager at the Porgera open pit gold mine in PNG. He has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto. Mr. Bourchier also serves on the board of Treasury Metals since August 2020.

Mr. Ahmed has a proven history of success with over 20 years of experience, with the past 15 years focused on the mining industry. He has expertise in financial management, corporate strategy, organizational restructuring, and capital markets. Mr. Ahmed has held a number of finance executive roles, most recently as CFO at both Nova Royalty and Jaguar Mining before that. Prior to Jaguar, Hashim worked with Barrick Gold for over seven years, where he held progressively senior positions in finance functions in Canada, and with site finance teams in Chile. At the start of his professional career, he obtained his CA/CPA designation with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and later worked with Ernst & Young LLP in their advisory practice

Mr. Trebilcock has over 25 years of experience as a process engineer, management consultant, and mining executive. Mr. Trebilcock was Chief Development Officer of Nevsun Resources Ltd., responsible for strategy, corporate development and investor relations. Prior to joining Mandalay, Mr. Trebilcock was consulting on strategy and corporate development matters to various mining companies. Mr. Trebilcock was also previously the CEO of junior gold developer KORE Mining Ltd. and is a founder and Director of several junior gold exploration companies.

Ryan Austerberry (MAusIMM CP) has over 18 years experience in the resource industry, predominantly in technical roles and project management. Mr. Austerberry has worked with Mandalay since 2009, and prior to becoming General Manager of Costerfield, Mr. Austerberry was General Manager of Björkdal, and was Corporate Manager of Technical Services. Mr. Austerberry holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Mining from the University of Ballarat, an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course. Mr. Austerberry sits on the board of Equus Mining as the Mandalay appointed director.

Chris Davis holds a BSc (Degree with honours in Earth Sciences) from the University of Melbourne and is a Charted Professional of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM CP(Geo)). Having spent 15 years working with narrow vein gold and polymetallic deposits in Australia and Europe, he is a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43 101 and JORC. Chris has managed departments across Mining, Resource Development and Exploration.

Adam Self has over 25 years experience in the resources industry, predominantly in underground production roles. Mr. Self commenced his career as an underground operator across operations in Western Australia and Queensland before locating to BHP Billiton’s Cannington mine, quickly advancing to a supervisor role and continuing to progress though roles in Business Improvement (Six Sigma Green Belt) and Technical Services to become a senior engineer. Mr. Self was a leader of Emergency Response Team, attaining a Certificate 4 in Public Safety (Leadership), and Certificate 3 Mine Emergency Response and Rescue. Mr. Self has been with Mandalay’s Costerfield operation since 2018, originally as Technical Services Superintendent, and since 2019 in the role of Mine Manager.

Ms. Corin has more than 18 years of experience in the mining industry; working in various roles as a geologist in Finland, Western Australia and Sweden. Ms. Corin has worked at Björkdalsgruvan since 2015, and prior to becoming General Manger, Ms Corin worked as Björkdalsgruvan’s Geology Manager. Ms. Corin has a MSc in Geology from Åbo Akademi University in Finland and is a Member of Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
